| Nicolini hats are made in New York City with imported straw from the city of Montecristi Equador, the home of the classic Panama Hat straw material. The woven straw is stretched over wooden blocks carved in the shape which Nicholas and Ume Taylor provide. Their Rude Boy hat-block is an original CHARM NYC design. "Hand Blocked" in the East Village in lower Manhattan, these hats are seen as groundbreaking in their fusion of the classic ska, punk influence (with the stingy or shorty brim circa Brooklyn, Brixton, Kingston 1978) and the merging of straw materials from the village of Montecristi Equador.
